General Terms & Conditions
1. By submitting the reservation you (the participant, the customer) declare that you agree to these general terms and conditions.
2. We will send the booking confirmation, which makes the booking binding.
3. You are free to cancel the reservation. However, in certain cases there is no right to a refund and/or a payment obligation remains. See the cancellation policy below.
4. If you wish to cancel the reservation, you must inform us in a timely manner, at least one week in advance, by e-mail theakituwahealers@outlook.com.
5. Cancellation policy: If it is not possible to attend the booked ceremony or retreat due to unforeseen circumstances, you can schedule another suitable date with us.​
5.1 Cancellation policy for ceremonies organized by the akituwa healers in Curacao and the Netherlands: If you cancel a booking up to two weeks before the ceremony, we are unfortunately forced to charge 25% of the total ceremony price. In this case you will receive 75% of the total ceremony price back. If you cancel a booking between two weeks and one week before the ceremony date, we are unfortunately forced to charge 50%. In this case you will receive 50% of the total ceremony price back. If a booking is canceled within a week of the ceremony, we can no longer provide a refund. This is because we invest a lot of time, energy and costs in the preparation of your ceremony, and sometimes with last minute cancellations a spot is not used that could have been used by someone else.
In the event that something unforeseen arises and you are unable to attend, please contact us as soon as possible at theakituwahealers@outlook.com, and we will do our best to work with you.​
6. IMPORTANT: Before booking your ceremony or retreat you must read and agree to the “Medical and Safety Guidelines for Taking Entheogenic Plant Medications. There you will find a detailed list of contraindications and substances, medications, drugs, medical conditions that you must avoid in order to successfully participate in our healings and ceremonies. We also recommend that you read the recommended diet stated in the booking confirmation.
7. We have the right to postpone or cancel the ceremonies for important reasons beyond our control (e.g. severe weather conditions). You will be informed about this via the contact details provided when you registered/reservation. In the event of cancellation, you will be credited with your reservation equal to the participation fees already paid. You can be the first to be scheduled for future ceremonies, retreats and healings offered by the akituwa healers. Please note: you are not entitled to a refund of the participation costs already paid. Further liability claims and damage claims by the participant are excluded, this also applies to hotel rooms and airline or train tickets booked by you. We will always do our best to keep you satisfied and to offer you the experience you came for. This means that we will always prioritize you after changing a healing, retreat or ceremony to offer the next option.
Liability
1. The akituwa healers will ensure that the ceremonies and retreats run smoothly and orderly, where safety and professionalism are prioritised. Participation in a ceremony or retreat is at your own risk.
2. The akituwa healers are not liable for injury and/or damage of any kind as a result of the participant's stay and/or activities, nor for loss or damage to property.
3. Complaints must be submitted in writing to the akituwa healers. The complainant will receive a response within 14 days.
Medical Disclaimers
1. The ceremonies, healings and retreats that we offer are intended as an aid in improving physical, emotional and spiritual development and not as a replacement for medically necessary treatments or therapy.
2. Always report to the ceremony leader in advance before the ceremony if you have a physical problem or need extra help.
House Rules
1. Our locations are smoke-free, with the exception of traditional plants which are smoked for healing and cleansing effects. Drug use and alcohol use are not permitted during the entire stay.
2. Respect for every person, regardless of religion, views and gender, are our core values. We are respectful to all participants and expect participants to be respectful to each other and the akituwa family.
3. The Akituwa family has carefully chosen its locations to provide participants with a safe and comfortable environment during their stay. Therefore, treat the location and the surrounding area with care and respect. Together we take care of the properties. Any damage will be recovered from the perpetrator.
4. Participants who do not adhere to the conditions or house rules, or who do not follow the instructions of the akituwa healers, may be excluded from the ceremony or retreat. This does not entitle the participant to a refund of payment.
5. Making video/film or sound recordings during the stay, ceremony or retreat is only permitted after prior permission from the akituwa healers and, if relevant, the other participants.
